Plagiarism and Fabrication- Alexus Flannigan
Plagiarism has been around for many years but in today's society stealing someone else's hard work and claiming for that to be your own is spiraling out of control. First, we want to know the definition of plagiarism on google dictionary
Plagiarism is described as "The practice of taking someone else's work or ideas and passing them off as one's own." Many times people will plagiarize without giving the author the credit that he/she deserves. If you decide to use something of someone else's make sure you correctly cite and quote what part of the Author's work you are using. Always give credit!
Consequences Of Plagiarism
The consequences of plagiarism can be pretty serious. In high school you can be expelled if you plagiarize more than once, the first time you will receive a write up using a blue slip (this is the way my high school would do). It is important that we take this very seriously. These authors spend countless amounts of time making sure they have crossed every T and dotted every I so we need to be more compassionate. Plagiarism in college can result in you being kicked out of the university while in some cases permanent expulsion.
Fines ($$)
With plagiarism consequences are followed. As I stated above if you get caught using someone else's work what could happen but I did not talk about how plagiarism is considered a misdemeanor and you can receive a fine from $100-5,000 and possibly up to one year in jail.

Inspired Bags?

Often times you will see brands that will take ideas from another brand and call them "Inspirations/Inspired" another fancy word for just saying they plagiarized. Many people will "try to recreate other brands' work." I am a huge Louis Vuitton lover and I own many LV things. I pay the original price for the piece (Handbags, crossbody, wallets, shoes, clothes etc.) Although, many people can not afford to buy these pieces because of the price but still want to carry because of the luxury designs and in my opinion to "look the part." I feel if you can't afford these things do not go into debt trying to prove you can to others who aren't even worried about you or your bag. Doing my research I ran across a website called
www.aaahandbag.nu which I found this website name to be kinda weird but Triple-A is supposed to mean the "Highest Quality" which still = FAKE but it's the highest quality so why not? NOT! a Fake is a Fake. On this website, the first thing that jumps out is the "Only the Highest Quality Fake Louis Vuitton Bags." On this website, they promise that these Replica bags "Are Built to last- Our clients want to ensure that their bag is going to last a lifetime We understand this wholeheartedly. This is why our company has gone everything possible to ensure our clients get a bag that reeks of class and durability." As I continued my research I wanted to know just how much were these "Triple-A" handbags? And I could NOT believe what I saw these bags are being sold for HALF of Louis Vuitton price's many bags on this website was from $360-620.00 with many LV trunks (suitcases) those alone are around $2K so you get a suitcase for only $620.00?? This Can't be high quality and this SCREAMS lawsuit. I am apart of a Facebook group called BossBabes and this is a small community for people who own businesses and those who want to be apart of the business spectrum. We have guidelines like any other group that "You can not sell fake designer or even try" Well, some kind of way a lady got into the group trying to sell this "High-quality designer" and ended up being reported and that's not ALL she received papers to her doorstep from the workers at Chanel she was being sued for trying to sell fake designer on a business page that you promote your business brand, ask ideas on a companies name, and etc. She posted the pictures on her personal Facebook about being sued for almost a million dollars.
Conclusion: Always be mindful quote someone else's work and give them credit. Plagiarism is very serious and we should not take this matter lightly.
